Eva Lechner’s medal count at European Championships now amounts to ten (3 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze) after the 2012 European MTB Championships outside of Moscow.

Eva and her Colnago were part of the Team Relay Event, which was on the schedule for the first day of competition. Teams were composed of one Elite Men Athlete, one Junior, one U23 Athlete (both Men and Eva counting for the Elite Women’s category). The “Azzurri” won 4 seconds ahead of Team Switzerland and 12 seconds ahead of the Dutch Team. Eva, who had started after Michele Casagrande and Gioele Bertolini, passed on to the last rider Luca Braidot as third, placing him in the ideal position to attack and win.

“A gold medal at a major competition has to be valuated as a success. It spreads positive energy, motivates the team and gives prosperity for the upcoming competitions”, stated Edmund Telser, MTB Pro-Team Colnago-Südtirol‘s Team Manager, looking back at the European MTB Championships.

MTB Pro-Team Colnago-Südtirol is confirmed to take part in the 19th edition of the “Giro del Trentino Internazionale Femminile”, which will take place from 16th to 17th June 2012, before the UCI MTB World Cup continues oversees in Mt. Saint Anne, Canada and Windham, United States.
