Challenging rides through spectacular scenery, grand fondos are an Italian obsession. The Grand Fondo Colnago series brought this great tradition to the USA, and continues in 2010 with rides in San Diego, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

Every Grand Fondo Colnago offers challenging routes with tough climbs and sweeping descents through breathtaking scenery.

There are refreshment, medical and mechanical aid stations along the course. The post-race party will be an occasion to have some fun and savour some authentic “Made in Italy” delights.

The series kicks off In San Diego on March 7 with Colnago ambassador Paolo Bettini among over 2000 expected riders. As with all the series there will be three distances - (160km, 85km or 51km) - to cater for all ability levels as we head into the hills of Southern California.

The series crosses the Atlantic for a new event for 2010 in Golfe de Saint-Tropez on April 18, which we hope will be the first of several new events for 2010.

We return to the USA for the next round, in Philadelphia on August 8. The series then gets back to its roots on September 5 with the original Grand Fondo Colnago in Piacenza, Northern Italy, an unforgettable ride over the famous hills of Colli Piacentini.

Finally, the series winds up back in California with the Grand Fondo Colnago Los Angeles on October 24.
