Colnago wins again at the Tour de France
Colnago unveiled its latest collection of bikes via its new website on the eve of the Tour de France. Thomas Voeckler and Pierre Rolland immediately showed off the stunning new black C59 Italia Team Edition and Colnago M10 S bikes, winning back-to-back stages in the Alps. Rolland went on to finish eighth overall, while Voeckler won another mountain stage in the Pyrenees and pulled on the iconic polka-dot jersey in Paris as winner of the climber’s competition. It was another hugely successful Tour de France for Colnago.

First road racing bike with Hydraulic Disc Braking System
Colnago sparked a new era in bike design and introduced a new level of braking performance and safety by creating the Colnago C59 Disc bike. The Colnago C59 Disc is a high performance road bike fitted with fully hydraulic front and rear brakes. The frame and forks have been designed specifically for the new braking system, offering a perfect balance between road bike performance and braking control.

80th Anniversary bike
Ernesto Colnago turned 80 on February 8 and the company celebrated his life of innovative bike design and love for cycling with the special C59 Ottanta bike. Just 80 examples of the bike were made and it immediately became a collector’s items. The C59 Ottanta has a stunning gold finish and is equipped with the best possible carbon fibre components, including a Campagnolo Super Record EPS 11 electronic groupset.

Voeckler in Yellow Jersey
Thomas Voeckler became a national hero as he fought to defend the Tour de France leader’s yellow jersey in the second half of the 2011 race. And his special yellow Colnago C59 Italia bike drew as much admiration as his fighting spirit.

Sven Nys win his 13th Superprestige
Sven Nys is the king of cyclo-cross and despite facing several younger rivals, he again showed his huge talent and consistency by winning a record breaking 13th Superprestige title. He also won an eighth Belgian national title and qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Mountain bike race. Nys is pure class.

Niels Albert win Cross World Championship
Niels Albert struggled with a hand injury for much of the winter but had a day of grace in front of thousands of Belgian fans in Koksijde and won the world title using a Colnago Prestige bike that was perfect for the technically testing course. Albert confirmed he is the future star of cyclo-cross.

Colnago wins KOM at Tour de France
Colnago wins again in the most important race in the World, the Tour de France, with Antonhy Charteu riding his C59 Italia.

Colnago start sponsoring Team Type 1
Colnago decide to embrace the cause of type 1 diabetes awareness sponsoring Team Type 1, where some of the riders compete with the chronic disease.

2009
Colnago CSF - Inox team founded
Ernesto Colnago decides to support a young road racing team, Colnago CSF - Inox, comprising mostly riders under the age of 26. For 2010 Colnago will also support French Bbox Bouygues Telecom squad, the Landbouwkrediet team and Team Type 1 in the USA. Plus, Colnago expands into a new arena with the Colnago Triathlon Team.

Colnago America
Colnago America is established in Chicago, Illinois as a wholly owned subsidiary of Colnago to improve service and choice to Colnago customers in the USA. Special colour schemes and custom bicycles are once again available to American riders.

Real-X geometry
For the 2010 season, Colnago introduces the Ace, a new model in carbon fiber featuring a more upright riding position for fitness riders and participants in the hugely popular gran fondo and sportive scene.

The EPS and CX-1
A descendent of the Extreme Power and the C50, the EPS is Colnago’s stiffest lugged composite frame ever. Colnago adopts a semi-integrated headset, C-HS, to combine the advantages of an integrated design with the ease of maintenance of a traditional headset. Alongside the EPS, Colnago launches the monocoque CX-1, an ultra-light and stiff frame.

2007
Petacchi wins the Paris-Tours
Alessandro Petacchi wins the final sprint in Paris-Tours on his Colnago Extreme Power. It was the first success in this classic ProTour circuit for him. It was his teammate Erik Zabel to launch the sprint Petacchi.

New EPS first raced
Great German sprinter Erik Zabel at the EPS’s launch at the 2008 Tour de France. Zabel was the first official test rider of this successful Colnago bicycle.

2006
Ernesto Colnago awarded Italy’s high honour
At a special ceremony at the Quirinale in Rome, Ernesto Colnago receive the prestigious title of Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Industry) from the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.

2005
Colnago joins the A-team
Colnago becomes the first and only Italian bicycle builder to join the A-Team, the organisation representing the world’s top bicycle companies.
