For the 2010 season, Colnago introduces the Ace, a new model in carbon fiber featuring a more upright riding position for fitness riders and participants in the hugely popular gran fondo and sportive scene.

The EPS and CX-1
A descendent of the Extreme Power and the C50, the EPS is Colnago’s stiffest lugged composite frame ever. Colnago adopts a semi-integrated headset, C-HS, to combine the advantages of an integrated design with the ease of maintenance of a traditional headset. Alongside the EPS, Colnago launches the monocoque CX-1, an ultra-light and stiff frame.

2007
Petacchi wins the Paris-Tours
Alessandro Petacchi wins the final sprint in Paris-Tours on his Colnago Extreme Power. It was the first success in this classic ProTour circuit for him. It was his teammate Erik Zabel to launch the sprint Petacchi.

2007
New EPS first raced
Great German sprinter Erik Zabel at the EPS’s launch at the 2008 Tour de France. Zabel was the first official test rider of this successful Colnago bicycle.

2006
Ernesto Colnago awarded Italy’s high honour
At a special ceremony at the Quirinale in Rome, Ernesto Colnago receive the prestigious title of Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Industry) from the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.

2005
Colnago joins the A-team
Colnago becomes the first and only Italian bicycle builder to join the A-Team, the organisation representing the world’s top bicycle companies.

2004
Oscar Freire wins third world championship
Beating Erik Zabel and Luca Paolini, Oscar Freire takes a remarkable third world championship aboard a Colnago. “Oscar is a real champion,” says Ernesto Colnago. “He’s enthusiastic and still gets excited over a new personalized bicycle.” “I’ve been riding a Colnago bicycle for years,” says Freire, “and it’s like wearing a comfortable pair of shoes, the bicycle fits me so well. I’m convinced of one thing: a good bicycle won’t win you a race but [a bad one] could lose you one.”

2004
50th Anniversary bicycle
For Colnago’s official fiftieth anniversay, the company creates a special edition complete bicycle with a monocoque frame and custom touches such as embroidered 50th anniversary saddle.

2002
Mapei takes Liege one-two
Colnago riders take the top two podium spots in the longest of the Spring Classics as Paolo Bettini and Stefano Garzelli of Mapei escape in the closing kilometers aboard their Colnago bicycles.

2000
Ferrari CF1
With a front triangle moulded in one piece, the limited edition CF1 (just 500 are made) demonstrates the ongoing vitality of Colnago’s work with Ferrari.
