Italy’s Sacha Modolo took another victory for the Colnago-CSF Inox team at the Giro di Padania, winning the sprint finish to San Vendemiano, close to his home in Veneto region on his Colnago C59 Team Edition bike.

Modolo’s soon to be wife and family were at the finish to celebrate his fifth win of the season and the second consecutive victory for the Colnago-CSF Inox team after they won the stage two team time trial.

Sonny Colbrelli also kept the race leader’s blue jersey, making it a perfect day for Colnago.

“It’s a great win and I’ve got to thank my teammates for helping do it,” Modolo said.

“We worked hard on the flat roads to the finish and we managed to catch the five riders who had broken away, even if they had a lead of two minutes with just 30km to go. In the sprint Colbrelli, Pagani, Coledan, Canola and Brambilla gave me a perfect lead out and I couldn’t let them down. It’ great to win so close to home. People were calling my name and so I couldn’t let them down. I had to win.”
