Team Type 1
Team Type 1 has one of the most unique messages in the peloton. Its aim is to raise awareness about diabetes and, by supporting four team members who are diabetic, to demonstrate that diabetics can live full and active lives.
After competing successfully on the American circuit, the team makes a major leap in 2011 with its professional continental status, which assures its place in major events in Europe and the United States.
Aldo Ino Ilesic, the Slovenian fastman who delivered all six of the team’s 2010 victories, is back in a lineup that sees the arrival of several proven performers on the elite circuit.
Rubens Bertogliati, a winner of a stage at the 2002 Tour de France, is joined by Laszlo Bodrogi, a silver medalist at the world time trial championships and the only Hungarian to ever race the Tour. Another rider who will add depth is climber Alexander Efimkin.
