In the 1957 Giro d’Italia, Ernesto Colnago presented Nencini with the first custom made to measure bicycle. “Up until then, Gastone was always raced with standard bicycles – says Colnago -, looking at how powerful his pedaling was and above all his excellent descending skills. I decided to make a custom frame for Nencini, with a special geometry that would improve stability in descending and provide more rigidity for his pedaling”.
