Tadej Pogačar’s Bikes at the 2026 Tour de France

Stories

Tadej Pogačar will line up at the 2026 Tour de France with a technical arsenal built around two Colnago bikes:

the Y1Rs, the aero road bike designed for road stages, and the new TT2, the time trial machine developed to maximize aerodynamic efficiency, stability and outright speed.

The choice confirms a clear direction: for Pogačar, weight remains important, but it is no longer the only decisive factor. In modern stages, where high average speeds and explosive finales make the difference, aerodynamics have become an essential part of performance.

Colnago Y1Rs: aero road setup

Pogačar’s road bike is a Colnago Y1Rs in size 54 cm, configured as a pure aero bike: carbon frame, profiled tubes, bayonet fork and integrated CC.Y1 gullwing cockpit.

The handlebar measures 36 cm centre-to-centre, with the levers turned inwards to an effective width of around 28 cm. The cockpit is completed by the Hinloopen Rocket Mount aero computer mount for the Colnago Y1Rs, integrated into the handlebar line to keep the airflow clean.

The drivetrain is Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9200, with hydraulic disc brakes and 165 mm Dura-Ace crank arms. The chainrings are Carbon-Ti 55/40T, paired with an 11-36T cassette: a big gear for flat roads and fast finales, but with enough range for the climbs of the Tour.

The bottom bracket is the Bikone BSA Road Ceramic Aero UAE, developed for the UAE team’s Colnago bikes. It is a ceramic bottom bracket with a lightweight body and full-size bearings, designed to reduce friction without sacrificing stiffness.

The wheels are ENVE SES 4.5 Pro, paired with Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TR tyres in a nominal 28 mm size. The real measured width is around 31.6 mm at the front and 30.8 mm at the rear, confirming the choice of wider, tubeless-ready tyres with low rolling resistance.

The setup is completed with a custom Fizik Argo Adaptive 3D-printed saddle, Shimano Dura-Ace pedals and Pogačar’s personal Richard Mille and Hulk details. The weight is 7.07 kg as measured by Colnago.

Colnago TT2: the blade against the clock

For time trials, Pogačar will use the Colnago TT2 (frame size S) a lighter (550g less than) and more aerodynamic evolution of the TT1. The frame is built around a narrow front end, aero tube profiles, an integrated fork and a TT cockpit with custom extensions.

The drivetrain is Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 in a 1x configuration, with a single Carbon-Ti 64T chainring. It is a pure time trial choice: fewer components, less aerodynamic disturbance and a big gear for maintaining high speeds.

The crank arms are 160 mm Shimano Dura-Ace, shorter than on the Y1Rs, to help Pogačar hold a more closed position on the extensions and improve efficiency in the aero posture.

The front wheel is a 100 mm deep ENVE wheel, while the rear is a full carbon disc wheel. This setup is designed for maximum aerodynamic penetration in time trials. The tyres are Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TR in a 25 mm tubeless-ready size, chosen to reduce rolling resistance and frontal area compared with the 28 mm tyres used on the road bike.

The setup is completed with the Bikone BSA Road Ceramic Aero UAE bottom bracket, Shimano Dura-Ace power meter and Carbon-Ti components.
