Over the years, Colnago bicycles have won the hearts of enthusiasts for their quality. For nearly 70 years, the Ace of Clubs has been synonymous with taste, style, and details.
Exceptional designs, continuous innovation in the search for materials and new solutions for the most demanding racers in the group, and an eccentric personality in decorations and liveries: these are the pillars on which the work of the master craftsmen in Cambiago, near Milan, is based.
It’s a complex process involving several operations, a different number depending on the model. To start, each frame enters the sanding department, where it is prepared for a first paint job.
With this step complete, the first masks are applied to obtain the logo and details of the livery. Then, the frame is ready to receive the next color passes. After a final pass in the oven to dry the paint, the frame is thoroughly checked and cleaned of masking residue. Finally, transparent paint is applied.
Even the simplest and most minimal designs require great care. For example, to finish a C68 in HRWP color scheme, 18 operations are required!
It’s a dense weave of operations and processes that have been learned to perform to perfection at Colnago. Because here bicycles are not simple machines... but precious works of art
